Little Roo is now six and a half, not just six as she keeps reminding me but six and a half. She has spent nearly three years living in the U.S, three very formative years. She started school here, she learned to read, write, add, subtract and recite the pledge of allegiance everyday at school. She feels very entrenched in the culture. So entrenched in fact that when asked recently "who she is" she said, I am half American. When asked about the other half, she replied, I am also half Australian, half Russian, half Catholic and half Jewish.
Little Roo has started to learn fractions at school and I am sure it will not be long before she comes to the realization that the above equation does not quite add up. For right now though, Little Roo is comfortable with her global identity and and is enjoying her expat adventures.
